What Kind of Music Is This Anyway?

This is a great article from the NY Times: What Kind of Music Is This Anyway? By Michael Gordon.

John Zorn joined Han Bennink and Dave Douglas at Club Midway in NYC a few days ago. Wish I was there, but at least Bennink will be here!

more soon!

jmb

following the duets concert with han bennink, the next rhythms of art concert will be on march 21st, and will feature new original compositions inspired by the art of Jean Michel Basquiat, who has long been a favorite of mine.

i have been hoping to present a concert like this for years and feel very fortunate to finally get the opportunity to do so. Basquiat's work has both directly and indirectly influenced my music for quite some time now.

ill have more info for you all soon!
