It’s rare for me to hear an album that leaves me speechless nowadays. Especially when one leaves me speechless because of how delicate and beautiful it feels to me. Very rare. 

Listening to Come Sunday fucked me up. It’s gorgeous. It’s all in the subtleties. Hank Jones left us on May 16th of 2010.  We are fortunate to still have Charlie Haden among us. This recording was made 3 months before Hank Jones passed (when he was 91 years old), and 16 years after their first duet album. I’ve written previously about my time with Charlie Haden, perhaps in the near future I’ll share a few of my Hank Jones anecdotes. 

Sometimes you need to nourish yourself with sound. 

The album comes out in a few days. Listen to it, realize how music can change your life, and find solace in what you do and who you are.
